Bitcoin - The Currency of the Internet
A community dedicated to Bitcoin, the currency of the Internet. Bitcoin is a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no government, company, or bank in charge of Bitcoin. You might be interested in Bitcoin if you like cryptography, distributed peer-to-peer systems, or economics. A large percentage of Bitcoin enthusiasts are libertarians, though people of all political philosophies are welcome.
Spent the entire night reading this sub. Any tips on how and where I can start with bitcoin?
Hey guys, First of all great subreddit, I spent 5 hours looking through every single post and comment and now feel very inspired to buy and hold BTC. I’m so new to all of this, and just don’t know how to start and get my foot in the door. Any suggestions on how much to purchase, and from where? I was thinking of straight up buying $5000 worth of bitcoin now but then read about DCA and not sure if I should just make it a goal to buy consistently every week. Hope I’m making sense, any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated!! Edit: I’m located in Australia if that changes anything
Started investing in bitcoin using coin base pro. But as I look more into it most guides recommend storing your currency on an offline ledger or wallet. How do you protect yourself from a flash crash or 20% drop in value if its in a wallet?
Everywhere I see points to not leaving your crypto or cash on an exchange as they can get hacked, or your account can get hacked and your money taken. They recommend you use an offline ledger like the Ledger Nano X as an example, or a digital wallet. This is all fine but how do you protect your bit coin value in the case of a flash crash? Or do you need to choose? Thanks for all the responses and helping understand :)
I am interested in supporting the adoption of crypto. Thinking of sponsoring a few local bitcoin machines that have decent premiums (rather that the 10%+ I have been seeing). Any leads on how I could get started with this (lower cost devices to utilize with decent owner/operator support)?
Don't sell hodl! This could be our chance to meme something into existence, just like everything! Don't underestimate the power of the internet! Although bitcoin went a lot higher no one is asking for Dogecoin to go to $10,000! We can get it to a single dollar! Think about the hype when the news gets wind of 120% profits from a tiktok pump! Why are we holding .0040 we would be treadin water at .0025 is noone care about this! There is tons of volume! There is hundreds of millions of dollars in this coin its not JUST a meme!
